The Premier Mounts PSD-TTS Series of universal tabletop stands for flat panel displays are the latest in a line of third-party manufacturer-based table top stands. With the original manufacturers now discontinuing their accessories faster than ever, it is welcome to know that the consumer has options available in the event that they wish to alter how their display is mounted. In addition, this product in many cases is cheaper than the original manufacturers stand!
The PSD-TTS series of stands are available in both black and silver. Unfortunately, we ordered black but received the silver stand. Further to that, it was previously enjoyed. The end caps were already mounted to the top of the poles, and the poles had numerous (four on each) scratches where the previous owner had attempted to mount his display panel.
Premier has attempted to list every flat panel display that works with their product in the supplied four-page Ikea-style manual. Unfortunately, they have not updated their documentation within the last couple of years and our unit was not listed. While we were more than capable of making an instant determination that it would indeed work, there are some individuals out there that would be incapable of making that giant leap which could lead to unnecessary returns and hard feelings. In so saying that, however, Premier Mounts’ web site is current and up to date with this information.
Aside from that, the content of the manual is straightforward and easy to use. Because the manual is so thoroughly illustrated, language barriers will not be a problem with respect to assembly of this product. We had the product assembled and ready to go within fifteen minutes.
The construction of the product was solid, with two hollow chrome posts allowing for cable management providing the backing for the PSD-TTS. These posts screw into the heavy wood MDF base. The product ships with an optional plastic feet for the bottom of the stand which will ensure that you do not damage your furniture (and it also prevents the mount from sliding). Premier Mounts also included an option to screw the base directly onto your furniture. One thing to note is to be careful with the MDF base; it scratches and dents easily. The arm brackets that connect your display device to the posts are solid steel. These were easy to attach as well, however no method was included to center the display device to the stand. The entire assembly includes a back plate that covers the chrome posts at the back. The PSD-TTS back plate that we received was scratched severely, and coupled with the fact that we cannot see why you would need it, we elected not to use it.
This stand will hold any display larger than 37" up to and including some 60" panels. We would recommend prior to purchasing this unit that you verify if your panel will mount to this stand with the manufacturer. An abundance of spacers and different sized bolts were included to ensure maximum compatibility with virtually any display, however it is always prudent to verify prior to purchase to avoid unnecessary restocking fees.
