The Sanus VM3S is an attractive lightweight articulating mount for small LCD TV’s and monitors.
Once you remove the mount from the package you will notice the impressive weight of the individual pieces. This particular double arm mount comes in 2 pieces, with the two arms attached to the wall mounting plate only the pivot point that mounts form the arm to the TV needs to be fastened. This process is made very simple because there are no tools required to tighten or loosen the arms to each other. Each joint is tightened down with a knurled plastic knob. Simply place a couple of washers on the last arm, sit the last arm to TV pivot point on, tighten it down and you are done.
This line of Sanus mount’s are quite attractive. They come in a flat wall mount, single articulating arm or double articulation arm version. All of these mounts also come in a black and silver finish. The arms do look good; they are made from machined billet aluminum. They Silver and black colors are almost a flat finish, the arms have very little sheen to them at all. This is courtesy of the mounts being anodized form the factory instead of normal paint or powder coating. Anodizing looks good but can scratch a lot easier then powder coating, so be careful when installing the mounts.
This mount comes with enough hardware to mount just about any TV or monitor in the 26” and under size range that has the 75x75 or 100x100 VESA mounting pattern on it. This mount is also limited to not being able to hold anything heavier then 30lbs, but in the 26” and under size range it should be tough to find something heavier then that.
The VM3S Mount allows you to be able to tilt and swivel the TV and swivel the arm at the joint that attaches the arm to the wall. With both arms aligned straight it allows you to have the TV around 15 ½” from the wall. Each one of the two arms would ad around 6 ¼” of adjustability to the mount. The mount gives you the ability to tilt the TV up to 30° and pan the mount up to 180°
The Mount comes with two 3” in length large diameter screws, the only problem with them is that the heads accept Allen keys and Allen keys only. This may work alright if you are assembling some furniture from IKEA but trying to screw a 3” wood screen into a stud is asinine. You will either have to make a run to home depot and grab some normal screws or find a driver bit to put in your drill. Should you be so inclined, the package does include an Allen key for you to use.
All in all other then the mounting hardware for the wall this is a top notch mount and will hold up your small LCD TV or computer monitor perfectly and for a reasonable price.
